I had quite an interesting week last week, both good and bad. Last Tuesday I went to the fair with my mother and some friends and we had a pretty good time. My brother was supposed to go too but wasn't feeling very well so decided to stay home. We stayed for a couple of hours and were able to see 2 of the little shows they have there and have some dinner.
First we went to the "Circus of Illusions", it was pretty good for a 45 minute show at a small fair. It included two different magicians (they were both husband and wife acts), a clown, a juggler, acrobats, and this lady that was suspended by her hair. They claimed that one of the magician acts is internationally known, and I think I saw them on TV once.
Then we went to see the Tigers that they had there. It wasn't much of a show but it sure was neat to get a close-up look of these Tigers. There was this dog barking across the way from where the Tigers were being kept and two of the Tigers started pacing back and forth looking as if they saw lunch. Not a very smart dog to be barking at 300+ lb. Bengal tigers.
There was this one tiger that was looking straight into my eyes, not like he was going to eat me what sort of curiosity. It was like he saw a connection between the two of us (sounds stupid, probably in my head). Here is this huge, magnificent creature that should be running free in some jungle or something but is being kept caged in. That tiger would probably like nothing more than to be running free. Sometimes I feel as if I am caged myself. Caged by my condition which keeps me in this wheelchair and limits the freedom I have to come and go as I please. It was just neat the way that tiger was looking at me I thought.
Then we stopped to eat some cheeseburgers and while we did that were able to watch some sort of talent contests, some of the performers were actually pretty good. After that we just went home.
After having that good time, on the way in the house I got my foot caught on my brother is wheelchair and heard a pop and felt a lot of pain. I immediately thought it was broken but then it began to feel better so just went to bed. I took my leg brace off which was probably not the best idea. In the morning it was really killing me.
I had a doctors appointment that day (Wednesday) so decided I would tell him about it at the appointment. So he sent me over to the hospital to get some x-rays of the leg that was bothering me. We were in the hospital waiting to be x-rayed for about maybe two or more hours. Then we had to have the doctor fax another prescription over because the hospital said it wasn't written properly. And then after I was done getting x-rayed they tried to just send me home without even having anyone look at the x-rays.
Anyway to make a long story short, it was indeed broken. It wasn't a complete fracture, it was what they call a hairline fracture. So, it did not need to be casted but is being kept in my brace and wrapped with a bandage until it stops hurting and has some time to heal. So, I have not been doing very much this past week. That is all that is really new for today.
